Default new AUDI

Alright, guys, I just joined this forum because i'm selling my POS grand prix and getting an A4. I need some advice on which one is the best for the money. I am asking you this because I know your guys know way more about the car than I could. I know I'm going to get the quattro stick shift, but am debating about what year to get. I am planning on getting coilovers, racing tires, rims, snow tires (for going up to the mountains), a chip, and probably other things. Your help is very much appreciated, since i'm going to buy my car based on some of the things you say. I am thinking between year 2000 and 2003, and am willing to spend about $20 - $25 grand. What car has the best turbo, best handling (racing wise), biggest power/weight ratio, best for snow conditions, etc. Thanks again.

I have a 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro and i love it, but looking back i wish i could have held out for a 2.7T biturbo S4.

look into S4's, 1999-2001 are well in your price range. They are bi-turbo, and there are turbo upgrades for them. If you get an A4 and put loads of miney into it you'd be suprised what power you will get back though, even though its only a 4 cyl. engine w/turbo. $10k buying a 2000-2001 A4 and $15k modding it would be insane, you'd have one fast car.

Then again the 2002-2003 are a different chasis on both the a4 and s4 (i dont even know if they have 2002-2003 s4's?) so it really depends on your taste

i've heard that its a minimum of 4grand to fix a S4, so i'm leaning toward a 1.8T. my brother said the newer versions have a bigger turbo, what is the new version, 2002-present? What do you guys know about the newer 1.8t?

The Newer ones are heavier then the B5s (96-01) so i wouls say the older version would be quicker, and you can get a big turbo for it like GT28rs?? (i think thats what TomR has).. but i would go with a S4 in the end.. im just saying that becaus ei love them and probably getting one for graduation...... but i think a 1.8t you would have alot more to spend on it, so you could get a bigger turbo exauhst ect.. but i would say go with a B5.
