Hello all,

So I am new to both these forums and Audi.

I just bought my first Audi (and my first car for that matter...from a dealer, I did buy an MGB in highschool). It's a silver 2002 A4, 1.8t quattro, 5 Speed, Sports Package, 17in. wheels, excellent condition, It's awesome, even has the rear spoiler. (the deal maker for me was that it's still covered under a previously certified pre-owned warranty for another year and a half).

So I mostly just want to introduce myself, and say hey.

But I do have one question thats sorta bugging me and I can't seem to find an answer.

My Audi has a dark plastic ridge around the bottom. I see it on several audis from 2002-2005. But at th same time I see several Audis that don't have it and are just the car metal.

What is it? what does it mean? I don't really mind it. But I'm just curious why some cars have it and some cars don't.

 

You mean the lowers? The bottom part of the body? It isnt metal on some cars and plastic on others. They are all plastic, its just that some are painted and some are not.
