Default New Audi-er

Hey guys, I'm new to audi. Just got my car recently and I'm looking for some things to upgrade it. i have the 05 A4 1.8T Quattro. Comes with the sport package and the whole deal. Even limo tint in the front and double in the back.

Anyway, I just purchased a turbo timer, short shifter, and blow off valve. I'm looking to get the HRE C20s 19" and painted black. Now what i need to ask you guys is for an info on increasing speed. What are some things I can get that would add more than 5 horses like the cold air intake.

My friend was talking about ABT and I've never heard of it. Anyone know where I can look at stuff like that? thanks.

Uh, oh. Put on your flame suit and get ready. Once the flaming is done and you're told to search, disregard it all, search at other forums, and put your BOV on your car and realize it will work fine (you won't blow up your motor, run rich, starve dying babies, lose your family, etc); however you'll sound like a Honda. And that, in and of itself, is enough to eBay your BOV and buy a diverter valve instead.
What are some things I can get that would add more than 5 horses like the cold air intake.
If you can find a CAI that adds 5hp to a B6 1.8t, you will become rich divulging the secret. Because there is none. Carbonio is an expensive piece of bling that is the only one to have logs showing it doesn't lose any hp and may actually increase airflow somewhat (and sounds/looks great). Data has proven that the stock airbox is the best one you can have. Again, it ain't a honda.
Use search function. Between all the audi forums that you'll come acros on the web, eveything you'll needto know is uauslly a sticky at the top of the page.
PS- You could've spent money more wisely than on a turbo timer, too. If you want to add more than 5hp your first thing to do is chip that thing. Search the forms first. You'll stumble upon the car you want yours to be and then will find exactly what you'll need.

Oh jeez!!!! *GROANS* "dont say blow off valve" *LETS OUT LOW MOAN* "you wont like me when you say blow off valve" *COLLAPSES TO FLOOR THEN RIPS SHIRT OFF*.............."NUYORKA SMASH!!!!!!!!!!"
http://www.freemobilefun.net/wallp/174_132/cartoons/hulk-smash!.jpg

HOW TO NOT GET FLAMED FOR BEING A NOOB IN 10 EASY STEPS

STEP 1: Use the search tool. Almost everything you need to know can be found using the search. Hell even lie and say you used the search tool even though you didn't but NEVER just ask an easy question without first doing a search. This is what we call FORUM POLLUTION!!

STEP 2: For the love of GOD never say blow off valve. Our cars dont have them, they dont need them. We use Diverter Valves basically the same except Diverters re-circulate boost Blow Off Valves dont. Your car needs the re-circulated boost. DONT EVER SAY IT AGAIN

STEP 3: Oh hell. Repeat step 1 & 2 four more times.

Now for your questions because I'm a nice guy and I believe in following up a punch to the face with "hey man you want some ice for that"

First off.......Intake does nothing. No hp gain at all. In fact all it does is give you heat soak. But with an intake your diverter valve makes a cool blow off valvish psshhhhh when you let off the gas. Its the ONLY thing its good for. I have one and will take the heatsoak for that sound. I LOVE IT.

Second......quick hp gain....flash the car. $500 and you get anywhere from 30-50 horses depending on other mods. Hows that for a quick jump.

If you flash it, upgrade your diverter to a billet diverter, the added boost will kill you factory one. I tore through a brand new factory on in 14 hrs. Im not messing around DO IT. Also upgrade your n75. Get a catback exhaust and high flow cat if your state has emmisions test pipe if it doesnt. After that you decide if you wanna upgrade to a k04 turbo (direct bolt on upgrade) or a big turbo GT28RS or the like. Whichever you get you need a front mount intercooler and additional small mods, bigger injectors, bigger fuel bar regulator etc. Basically thats it.

Your mods list
1) ECU flash (aka chip)
2) Upgraded Diverter Valve
3) Cold Air Intake (optional but required for pshhhh sound)
4) Cat back exhaust with either high flow cat or test pipe based on state emmissions codes
5) Upgraded N75 valve J or H
6) Front mount intercooler
7) your choice of K04 turbo (moderate gains very reliable) or Big Turbo GT28RS (big gains less reliable) and all the additional requirement for either. Since your stick Id reccomend the Big Turbo

after that suspension blah blah blah.

If you dont know what one of the things I have mentioned are do a search. Dont let me log in tommorow to find a "whats an n75?" post. If I do know somewhere a a homeless bum will be beaten to death with a can of spam and it will all be your fault.

Your lucky Im in a good mood. Normally I would have tricked you into backing into the ditch I dug for you and then let the napalm fly.

BOV? Why let them know you're coming? Do a sneak attack.

First thing you should do is find out how much you're willing to spend on your ride and get a budget together. Once you know how much cash you're willing to throw at your ride, let us know. If money is no object, let us know how much power you're looking to make.

Alright 1 last question since I can tell you guys are ready to find out where I live and ruin me AND my car.

The Fast Road Closed Loop Diverter Valve with Adjustable Vacuum Connection or the Piston Closed Loop Diverter Valve with Adjustable Vacuum Connection?

Are those brands of DV's? Go with the Forge 007.

If you get a DV, get a 710N cheap-azz $35 diverter valve. It will hold up fine to boost and saves you $100. Works perfect. Nobody can see the shiny billet one anyhow unless you re-route it somewhere to show it off. Even if the 710N goes bad after a year or two, you buy another one and still are saving money. If you want a BOV, YES, a BOV, then get the Forge 004. Lots of people run them on B6 1.8t A4's with no problems whatsoever and the data logs to prove it. For that info, however, you'll have to search other audi forums because here it is still a propaganda-driven no-no to run a BOV.
If all you want is the pssssshhhhhh sound, then buying a good intake (not slapping a cone filter over the MAF/TIP opening like I've seen done) and DV upgrade to some shiny billett piece is hella more expensive than a $130 forge 004 BOV.... and I gaurantee if you try a cheap or DIY intake and DV to get that sound you will cause more problems than a BOV ever would.
And as for intakes causing heat soak.... Carbonio does not. Carbonio V2 on a B6 is a good piece, but expensive. It won't show hp gains, but it will let more air pass. That is a good thing. Cheap home-made cone filters will cause heat soak.
