new brakes
hey guys. my name is matt. i'm new here at the forums, since i just bought my audi, a 97 a4 1.8t. the brakes are squeaking and need some work. i'm not sure what the problem is. my question is where i should take my car. do i need to go to a local audi dealer, or should i just go to meineke? what do you guys think?
Changing pads/rotors is a simple job, so any mechanic/shop can do it. It all comes down to price.
The dealership will charge you alot more.
If you are even simply mechanicly inclined you can do them yourself.
Just rent the rear caliper tool from you auto parts store, and order the rotors/pads yourself. I would think you might not even need rotors, you can check that yourself.
