Default New brakes, picture

I just got my new brake pads and rotors installed. They're Rapid Performance drilled and slotted rotors with Mintex pads. I haven't gone through the break-in period, so I'm not sure just how good they are, but they seem much better.

I put my phone in the picture so you'd get a sense of scale. I realize I should probably paint my calipers. They're pretty rusty, not sure if I'm up for it. I don't know much about it.

Brakes look quite small for the wheel size. paint your calipers silver or black

You do know slotted/drilled rotors are prone to cracking right? Keep an eye on them.

Are all drilled rotors prone to cracking? or just drilled and slotted? or both?

From what i've heard it's the cross drilled rotors that crack. I've never experience it, so I don't really know.

those are just the cheap ones that crack and it is the cross drilled ones. Slotting doesn't affect the cracking of brakes... If you get good brakes that run in the 1K + range then you really don't have to worry... They come from the factory on the Porsche's, I don't think Porsche would put them on if they would fail and crack like that....

he's right. i believe the best quality "drilled" rotors actually have the holes cast into them so the rotor metal is not altered on a molecular level due to strain from drilling.
