Get a hold of a scan tool and get the code off of it. Come back and post what you got. Sometimes scanners will tell you what the problem is. Check your local autoparts store, they may do it for free.

welcome to the world of audi and the CEL. i had my CEL come on so much the bulb actaully burned out so i dont have to worry about it now, although i do have a 40 dollar ebay code scanner and scan codes ever so often, take it to autozone and have it scanned, probably just a 02 sensor throwing code or the giac, shouldnt be a huge proble, also you have been putting in aa premium right, if not itll cause the car to misfire.

lol i drove around for like 3 years with a cel on without even getting it vag'd. i knew what all the problems were anyway.
sorry but seems a bit daft buying a tunned up audi and knowing nothing about anaudi its self.
since it is tunned, you could be popping cel's quite frequently.
get involed in your local audi chapter, find a good respectable mechanic, and buy a bently service manual (best thing money can buy!!!!!). you can buy a service manual from almost any auto parts store like o'rileys or autozone.

Don't disconnect the battery unless you have the radio unlock codes from the previous owner.

Was this a private party buy? if not take it back to the dealer and demand they fix the problem since it hasn't been a day.
