Default new clutch & flywheel

Well the clutch on my 1999 2.8 a4 quattro is toast, I need a new one. I thought I would get a new lightweight flywheel while im at it. What kinda of clutch+flywheel do you guys recommend? I know NOTHING about clutches or flywheels, would it be possible to buy them as a set? or do I necessarily need to get them seperate? I dont want to blow a bunch of money away on this, but I also wan't to get some good throttle response out of my car, as well as any other gains possible. Please suggest something good for me.

well as for the light weight flywheel if you are daily driving this vehicle espically in the city this is amod you will get tirec of very easily but the clutch there are manufacturers out there for the 2.8's if you are stock performance wise and do not plan on doing any modding then stock cluctches will be fine

what stage would you recommend for the spec clutch+flywheel??? I don't track race, but I want to get good response and performance out of my car. What diffrences will i notice between the diffrent stages? Do the higher stages make annoying loud noise or anything like that?

I don't know of any loud noises they would make, but the higher the stage the more harsh the engagement is (driveability decreases). If you don't have anyserious mods Stage 1 will be fine.

I say order a clutch from South Bend Clutch. I have the TZ series and it is amazing. The clutch grabs so much better than an audi clutch and even at a way lower pedal point.

thier website is South Bend Clutch Very friendly and helpful people. Very fast shipping and prob cheaper than an OEM clutch but still better.

unless you're going to supercharge your 2.8, there really is no reason to get a performance clutch. you can get sachs clutch kits at ecstuning for about 260 bucks...

www.awe-tuning.com also has some clutch/lwfw packages. i'm not sure how good they are, but i'd assume that since they are from awe, that they are pretty good. anyone know something that i dont?

okay well then i guess ill only get a stage one or 2 clutch, but what do you guys think about aluminum flywheels (lightweight). Are they good for daily driving? I hear they give good throttle response, and thats what i really want.
