Default New Dv or AirIntake

Hey guys,

I am dabating buying the Forge007.. or getting an air intake.

I just bought a new 710N valve, and plan to chip my car in march.

I found this intake on ebay ebay intake It looks nice and would cost the same as the Forge007 with shipping.

Im leaning towards this intake or some other intake. If you do not recommend this one what do you?

as a side note does an intake void the warrantee?

thanks guys

chris

I went to GI joes, err Joes and just bought a K&N filter for $30 and then made the rest work. It was very straight foward and everything fit together perfectly. I would just use the 710n.

The 710n diverter is fine and since your a b6 I think your car comes stock with one so you probably just bought something you already had. A lot of people are going to tell you to just make your own intake and save some money. I got the evoms intake and it's awesome. I didn't want to make my own because most of them dont' look as nice. I'd say make your own or buy the good stuff.

If u go with intake, you better get a heat shield.
You can also look at classifieds for the used/new intake or a DV. Good Luck.

He has a turbo car, a heat sheild would do nothing for him.

From my knowledge, an intake wont effect your warrenty. Just get a filter and slap it on the maf or just drill holes in the airbox

actually I am quite knowledgeable with dv since I have been messing with mine for a while. B6's have the normal 710 dv valve. The 710N is new, and was designed and developed for the new 225hp audi TT so it will perform fine when I chip the car.

Im either leaning towards the ebay intake, or coughing up more $ for something else

thank you Cincy, viper, protein, and rhino for your input

I was close but oh well, I've read that you don't need to change the dv on b6's when you get chipped. I wouldn't get the 007 if you already have the 710n since there probably will be no difference. Even if the 710n fails you can buy 2-3 more and it will still be cheaper than a 007. If you want the good sound and a little better throtle response get an intake.

710n's use to be supplied with APR turbo kits for a long time before they got their own dv. They are fine to use on any amount of hp/boost until they fail which shouldnt be a problem.

Both the 225 TT and GLi use a upgraded 710n

i would try to get a forge 007. For the intake i just put in a k&N open air filter and made a heat shield for a grand total of $40, sounds great, heat shield works great, and you even get that psssssh noise if thats what your lookin for.

...heat shield works great,
HE HAS A TURBO CAR, A HEAT SHEILD DOES NOTHING, thats whyyour's "works" so good.
