I just swapped out my stock ECU for a GIAC chipped ECU. Right off the bat I am having the usual rough idle and jumping tach that is associated with this swap.
As per the instructions in some previous posts I turned the key to the on position and waited for about 3 min. I then turned the car on, let it idle for about 3 min. Then turned the car off.
After this, it is still doing the same thing.
I would go out and disconnect the battery but I dont want to loose my radio, as I do not have the code, nor a VAG.
Should a TBA still work without having to disconnect the battery?
As soon as I swapped ECU's I let it sit at the on position for a while...
Should I unplug the ECU again and try it over or just leave it and hope that it gets better?

Sounds good..
I have yet to put on my 710N DV but, I took it for a couple of quick runs out on the highway and it kicks ***...
Downshift while going 50 and you can without effort hit 90 in what seems like a second.
Because I have the stock DV on still, am I not getting the most amount of boost possible? Should I notice anything more when I switch it?
by the way, the tach jumping is quite a bit more subtle than it was at first..

I seriosly doubt the stock valve will hold 15psi. It feels weaker then the stock 2g dsm valve and that one leaks at like 10-12.
The reason to buy one as it actually holds the boost and allowing your turbo to stay in its efficiency range by not having to work extra. When the bov leaks and your still boosting 15psi, the turbo is working harder to make that boost therefore risking putting the turbo out of its efficeincy range. Which equalls bad and less power. Thats why the 710n was the best $38 I spent on my audi.

When I was putting my dv in i unhooked the recirc hose and had my hand over that end of the dv it didnt seem to be letting any air by at all

at idle it should be open. Thats yet another bov issue is that at idle its letting out metered air. From the feel of the valve, and my experience with weak valves tells me it doesnt hold. I may be wrong, but then again my car felt ever so slightly peppier after the dv install, but that could be due to the air box mod.
