Default New guy doing big things

Ok so I finally got home from about 9 months of marine training to my 2001 a4 2.8q that I bought while on boot camp leave... And with that came me buying stratmosphere intake, milltek exhaust, stratmospehere short shifter, pulleys, andgiac chip all this past week. Now i'm looking for the following items... I want headers but I have been told they're hard to come by and are very expensive... If anybody has a website for headers and an intake manifold it'd be greatly appreciated... Also any info on where I can buy valves, springs, pistons, rods, at good quality... I know these cars don't get built often but this one is going to be very soon... Don't worry i'll put my video clips/picsup on here for all of you to see the build...

I'll also take suspension ideas... I like how the tein springs look on the a4's but what struts would you suggest going with...

Also I want to change my brakes around and would like to know some respected companies that you guys have gone with here to do so...

I'd appreciate your knowledge! Thanks, Ryan

Don't waste money on cams or headers - save up the dough to get a PES supercharger. It's the only real deal performance gain for the 30v 2.8. People run 8-10psi stockand they're fine.

As for brakes do a search. There's lots of info...

If you haven't started the MODs, trade it for an S4.

I know what my best bet is but people talk of a few completely built 2.8q's on here... There's gotta be somewhere they're getting these parts from... I know I can supercharge it but I don't want to do that right away... I'd rather build the engine first

Are you building the bottom end for a naturally aspirated set-up or do you plan on turboing/supercharging the car? The answer will determine what rods and pistons you should look into.

Well its your money but I say an S4 would be a better choice. Goodluck on the build though...The stock 2.8 cams are nearly optimal for that engine, it'll be hard to engineer better.

The plan is for me to build it for a supercharger... I have goals of 400 whp and do not know if it is feasible in this vehicle... I know I could buy an s4 or some other fast car but I love my 2.8q and think it'd be a unique car if I reached my goals... It's not a daily driver either so the time is there for this to be taken apart and be put back together... BUT I refuse to supercharge it before building up the motor properly... Like I said, keeping this carunique is key because I plan bringing this car to shows and what not...
