Default new here, 2.8 exhaust

hey guys i'm new here, i've been working on my friend's 96 audi a4 when ever he wants something done, it's really really mild now with only a cold air intake, and a k&n filter. He wants to put a "thrush turbo muffler" on it and i was wondering what size the pipe is where it goes into that huge muffler over the rear suspention and also what size is the pipe that comes out and is attached to the other muffler?

thanks i am really new to audis and am amazed at how hard they are to work on compared to muscle cars.

here's something to ponder, a big 6-71 roots blower on a 96 audi a4 hah, i'd do it if i could get a distributer and a carb. instead of all that fuel injection crap

I'll gladly teach you the best lesson learned on the forums. Search first. audiworld has a 12v development forum. Definitely check them out. 12v.org? under personal links? there's a dude that did a headerback custom exhaust... look into that. I believe you'll find all inlet/outlet sizes in those threads.... I'm planning on going 2.75max after the y-pipe... maybe even down to 2.5 into the stock resonator...

If he's trying to FI (forced induction) an A4, he got the wrong one to do it. You'll need a standalone for s/c or turbo for sure.... should've dished out the cash for a 30v 2.8... anyways, welcome to the forums, keep us posted on his progress.

Ehhh.. Thrush?? Please dont confuse cheap domestic aftermarket parts with sweet german engineering... Even though hes got the bottom of the barrell 12v engine, he still deserves some respect.. ya know??

And no i dont care if thrush exhausts are universal for all car makers/models... Might as well get him some glowing windshield washer nozels and plastic spinner hub caps.

Sorry bottom of the barrell is harsh.. How about... The least desireable B5 platform engine which lacks modability??

a turbo muffler is a type of muffler ha it's not for turbo cars, and thrush is a good brand that sells for cheap, don't mind me i'm one of those muscle car rednecks hah, i'm used to working on big block v8s that make 350-400hp stock and this little motor thing is new to me, thrush mufflers sound sweet on v8s and my buddy has got them on his v6 truck and make his truck sound like a small block chevy instead of the 4.3L v6 he's got

haha, IMO, you need to do a lil more research on the complexity of these motors.. even... or especially the one that's least modable... they're known not to be mod friendly for a reason. Tell him to get an s4motor in there!

you shouldn't let a guy with less engine displacement than a bottle of soda pick on you, "twin turbo, nitrous, slicks and still running 14s"
