Hey guys, been scrolling these boards for a while just because I'm probably looking at an A4 as my first car...somewhere in between an 04'-05'. Since its really hard to find one with the factory navigation system(i also hear it stinks), i'm probably looking for a good, reliable aftermarket one since my dad believes navigation is a complete must for a first car. Any of you guys have a set up where you have an aftermarket navigation system...somewhat integrated into the console? I don't like that look where its just a whole seperate thing.
A fold up one isn't something I want...I like that flat look, but whatever comes up!
Thanks

-Anuj.

Man do I feel bad for you. Pops is forcing you to get nav in your 04-05 audi?? Bummer.

Actually I'm just jealous - someone will chime in soon who will actually help.

whats up brotha welcome to the forum. I'm in the same boat as you, I just bought an 02' A4 and will be purchasing an aftermarket nav system for it. You're getting an 05' audi for your first car thats pretty sweet man, I had to wait a few years and went through 2 cars before buying my audi. I don't like the flip up screens either, I think you can buy a whole new oem face plate for the console with has the slot for the nav to put in. I could be wrong though I haven't really looking into it yet but I think I'll probably be doing that, or just building my own custom one.

I dont know if this helps but i have a 99 a4 and im putting a computer in my car witha 7" lcd touch screan in the dash all custom some of the guys at audizine have done it going to be making the dash insert custom with fiberglass and going to atempt to make it look stock, its alot harder to do it this way but if you know where to buy the stuff it ends up being cheeper then most NAV units and you have tons of extras, anything your home computer can do is what this computer for your car will do. 120gig hard drive going to have all my music files, a few movies, maybe some games, and NAV, also going to run xm radio though it as well its a sick set up, my best friend just got done putting it in his wrx, only cost around $800 might want to do some research in my opinion its the only way to go.

Welcome! if you search around you could possibly find an OEM nav+ for sale. the RNS-E's is the one that you want. I've found a few for sale on other boards. just keep your eyes open.

lol, the problem with those in teh link...as stupid as this sound...none of them really look that cool. I'd rather have a flip out one than one of those.
is there any way I can get the new audi mmi navigation installed?
