New member question
Hey all, I'm in the market for a new car and have pretty much settled on the A4. Here's my question. The new revised 05's are coming soon with the new 3.2 FSI and 2.0 FSI. I was going to go for the 3.2 but from what I've read it's not turbocharged. Since I plan to modify this car, in my experience with previous cars it seems that it would be better to get the 2.0 for easier mods and hp gains. Am I wrong in this assumption or will the new 3.2 motor be a great platform to work with? I know it's a relatively new motor but I was hoping some would have more insight than I do. Thanks for your time.

Well...this is pretty much just speculation at this point...but I would say that the 2.0T FSI is gonna end up with a greater difference when modded. It will probably get more mod attention at first so mods will come out quicker for the 2.0T. Whether or not a 2.0T modded will end up with more ponies than the 3.2L is another question. Afterall...the 2.8 with a supercharger is freakin awsome! Right now it seems that the 1.8T needs a chip and exhaust to pretty much catch up with their 2.8/3.0 siblings. One thing for certain is..there aren't gonna be many mods for either of them for awhile. The 2.0T is a brand new engine and it's gonna take some time to analyze and create products for it. I'm not sure about the 3.2L.
Either way...you might want to consider the consequences of modding a car THAT new. Warranty issues, dependability of the modified parts you plan to use...etc etc.

True, I agree with all of your points. I didn't plan to go mod crazy right away. I would like to have the warranty for awhile just in case
But in the long run I'm just thinking that it's easier to say, plop a bigger turbo in with the existing fuel setup for larger gains than most bolt ons would do for a NA. Not to mention a simple boost controller can do wonders all depending on how Audi sets up the new car. I guess it's impossible to tell since most tuners haven't had the chance to mess with them. Any A6's out there modified yet? Cuz that's the same motor.

the 3.2 is a super powerfull engine and with HGP bi turbo kit (ABout $5200) the car puts 423 hp to the wheels

Awesome. That's not a bad price either. Thanks for the info. Is that 423 AWHP or converted 2WHP? I'm assuming awhp but I know how hard it is for most to find an awd dyno. Lots of Evo members converted to 2 wheel drive just for dyno purposes.
