Default New Motor

Anyone tell me how much a new motor costs, for an A4 1.8 tq 1996. I wouldn't mind finding a pre built performance motor. Anyone have any ideas? I know you can get Japanese cars Crate motors (pre built performance motor) delivered to your door from japan. Is this the same with Audi motors from germany?

I've never heard of crate motors from Germany. Most people just find a used one from a wrecker yard. You could probably pick one up for around $2k-$3k.

No I doubt it. The new ones have a third power rail that yours probably don't have. I've heard of people retrofitting them though, but it takes extensive work.

I got from a place in cali that imported it from germany. I just talk with the dealer and he pointed me in the right direction, it takes 2weeks to get them straight from germany, and ended up and cost me 6k.
