Default New Owner... Couple Issues

Hey guys, glad I found an Audi forum to help with owning this car. Lol. Oh ya... its a 99 A4 1.8T AWD, Car has 140k on it and seems to be close to perfect.

Anyways.. couple issues.

-When I make 90 degree turns right or left I get, not a noise, but what feels sort of like the wheels are kind of skipping, like a 4wd truck put into 4wd on pavement. This is my first AWD car so not sure if it is normal or not. Any input?

-Also, my driver door handle is kind of loose, just the metal part that clips to the plastic handle. Any ways to tighten this up? Bend the clips?

-Heres one others may have encountered... my leather driver seat is ripped on a seem.. possible to just sew it back up? Anybody tried anything like that?

-What else... oh, not really a problem, but I have only driven this A4, so nothing to compare it with.. it seems to be very "laggy" from a stop, wondering if my turbo is worn out, or if this is normal. Car has good power after the rpms rise alittle though.

Thanks.. any insight is appreciated. Loving the car so far.

Is it a sort of clicking noise? Do you only hear it when you're turning 90ยบ or can you also hear it when you're going slow speeds?

Check your cv joint boots, if they're ripped you probably have a bad cv joint. There will probably be grease all over the inside of your wheel if it did rip.

This is what I'm talking about-

Super common, just use it as an excuse to get some RS4 Recaros in there

It's normal for a turbo car. The power comes from the turbo using exhaust gasses to spin the turbine, compressing the air into the intake. It takes the first ~2500-3000 rpms to spool the turbo, which is where the lag comes from.

If you chip it, that power should come on a tad faster.

edit-
Has the timing belt been changed twice? You really want to check when it was changed last, because you need to change it ever 70/80 thousand miles.

Your vibration problem....we are discussing the same thing on another thread.... https://www.audiforums.com/m_710160/tm.htm

your door handle, sounds like the door panel was taken off and the door handle cable was not put back in the right place.

good luck....
