Default New owner...sort of.

Whatup beotches! <--- ok, sorry for that. I've always wanted to say that, walking into a crowded room, full of strangers. So I guess doing it over the internet will be as close as I get.

I bought an '07 2.0T A4 Sline 6MT loaded (dolphin grey metallic) for my fiance about a month ago. She's been out of town on business the past couple of weeks so I've been driving her car to the office (far better gas mileage than my infiniti coupe....and the new car smell. ).

Anyway, I've visited our local APR distributor in Redmond and am very interested in the APR flash. Can't beat 80-90 ft. lbs. of torque for $600. My only concern is that apparently these new 2.0T's have a partially electronic diverter valve which no aftermarket replacement has been produced? Does anyone have an idea on the impact of doubling boost on the stock system/DV? Was the guy wrong and perhaps there is an upgrade available? Is it necessary?

Thanks for the assistance. I did run a search and ran through a bunch of posts and stickies, but could only find related posts regarding the 1.8T (different DV setup?) and such.

I think you can run the same DV as the 1.8T... I will look.

Are you sure the DV needs to be replaced on a chipped 2.0T? I think something would be available if it was necessary. Just ask the shop thats chipping it, its their job to know.

Thanks for chiming in guys.

I did speak with the APR distributor and he seems to agree with me that the 2.0T is just too new to see any bad problems stemming from the APR flash. Hopefully, I can run mine without replacing the DV and, if necessary, hope a replacement comes out before it stops working. Unfortunately, no one can really know if a chipped 2.0T requires an upgraded DV until they start failing.

I'll just wait a few thousand miles, make sure the motor isn't burning oil, then go get the APR flash.

Thanks again.

More importantly, there is an ECU reflash update some dealers have been performing on the B7's- which erases the chip flash. You should make sure you get the update before the chip.

Good to know on the ECU dealer flash.

Will APR reflash for free or for a reduced priceshould the need arise? If not, they should, based on a given VIN.

Thanks.
