Default new parts came in :)

Hey guys-

Got the cxracing (ebay) intercooler diy kit and my gpopshop k04 today.

Needless to say, I'm happy.

5bar fpr and giac k04 software in the works.

My question - I took off the front bumper to begin to get an idea of how I'm going to mount the fmic, when I had a thought.

Why can't I run both the new fmic and the stock smic? The only downside I could see would be the pressure drop across both. Who thinks it'd be a problem? The piping certainly would be a snap, so that's no problem, and hey, it'd be a more efficient system at cooling the iat's.

Who thinks it's worth a try? I can always change it later, the kit came with tons of pipe. If you think this is a retarded idea and i should go back to riding the short bus, let me know. No offense taken.

You said it yourself.......

they havebigger smic's that will do the job, and keep the car stealthy.

Running two is just way to much drop. it only needs to be a little bigger.

ok ok. What would happen with "way too much" pressure drop anyway? massive lag? Oh, and supposedly the pressure drop for the fmic is 0.2 - 0.5 psi @ 15psi.

Less boost.

You're using the turbo to create boost, then you run it through two intercoolers, and loose a lot of the boost you were trying to create.

So, you lose power. The purpose of the turbo is to create power, and then you are defeating the purpose. you want the air cooler so its more dense, but if you are losing all the pressure you built up, it does you no good.
