Default New perspective on loud wiper problem

I have problems with wipers making a loud dragging noise on my 2000 B5A4. The problem has not been fixed by replacing blades, using RainX, or scrubbing the glass etc. I've found that the problem is only with the passenger side wiper. It is worse when the window is wet, almost non existent when the glass is dry.

I've noticed the driver side carrier for the blade is straight, but there is a pronounced curve in the carrier on the passenger side. My question is should the passenger side wiper blade be straight, or is the curve normal?

TIA .... Greg

Default RE: New perspective on loud wiper problem

Well I have tried to straighten the passenger-side wiper blade. It is very difficult to re-form it, it seems to require brute force to change its shape. Hard to believe it might have become bent through every day events, like being put through an automatic car wash. I still need to find out whether the blade should in fact be straight.
cheers,
Greg

the blade is sort of hooped which is normal, most noise problems come from the blade having too much play where the blade attaches to the wiper arm so a little nip up the might be worth a try
