Isnt 50% all around like having no tint at all? The shop that did mine showed me a car that had 35% all around, and it looked like they forgot to tint the windows because it was so light...I couldnt imagine 50%. What state is that?
Maybe it was because it was a white car with tan interior. who knows...

I just picked up my car and its not limo tint, but its definitely darker. My audi had some stock tint on the windows already, and then they put on 50% tint, so it appears darker, but is certified at 50%. Maine State Law is 50% on all windows except windshield. I wanted to avoid tickets and attracting attention frompolice which is why I met state limits. I tend to have a few beers on the golf course in the spring, summer and fall and don't want to get pulled over for tint when I just played 18 if you know what I mean.
We just got some shitty weather, so when the roads clear up, I'll wash my car and take some pics. You'd probably be surprised at how dark it looks.

mmmmm shiny and tinted...looks good dude. I went with 35% myself with 20% on the rear window. The 20 on the rear helps keep light out and keep the inside darker giving the impression that the overall tint is a little bit darker too. My experience, cops in CA havent given us much trouble with 35% tint. You'll definitely get pulled over for 20 and 50% is useless.
Oh and yeah get the stripped screw set. DO NOT DRILL IT OUT. youll just mess it up. Not saying you arent talented at fixing things, just saying its hard to get it right.

If you had some light tint on your windows already, and then you had 50% tint installed, you would then have a betterthan 50% tint. For your car to be certified at 50% then itshould only be 50%, so either your car was not tinted to begin with, or the shop put in some lighter tint than 50%. Now I am not sure how many different percentages of tint are even available, but if your car has a light tint of say 75% from the factory and you have 50% tint installed on top of that, you're looking at a 25% tint. I have a buddy who's 06' Saab had some super light tinting in the windows from the factory that he was unsaware of. He then had 35% (the legal limit in MA)installed on all of his windows. He was pulled over and ticketed when the cops' light-meter read something like 30%. He is currently battling the tint shop as they "assured" him his set-up was legal.
