Default New reader coil == new lock barrel ??

Hi I wonder if anyone can answer my question please?

I had a new reader-coil for the ignition fitted about 6 months ago, I had to
pay a fee for tumbling. Could anyone please tell me, if they fit a new
reader-coil, does this mean I had a whole new lock barrel?

Recently the ignition is malfunctioning. When the engine has started, the
lock is not automatically springing back into the correct position & has to
be turned gently back. If they fitted a new lock barrel, this should still
be under guarantee.

I have a 1997 A4 Avant 1.9 TDI (110).

Many Thanks
P

I'm assuming that you are not in the States. Are you referring to the ignition switch....where you put your key to start the car?

I would think that if anyone did any work to your ignition switch that it would be under warranty for at least 6 months. Take it back to the guys who did the work and ask them to fix it.
