Default New Turbo... New Oil?

im about to drop in my new turbo into the 1.8t and am wondering whether or not i can keep my existing oil in the engine while taking the old turbo out and putting the new k03s in? Will the lines currently have loads of oil in them? will the old turbo have lots of oil in it currently? same thing goes for coolant? (or does that not run thru the turbo?)

second question is when seafoam is put into the oil does that run thru the turbo? if so why would you also seafoam the vac lines?

Coolant does go thru the turbo, seeing as how the coolant tank is alot higher then the turbo, lots of coolant will come out when you take the line out. I think you will be okay with the oil, but there is going to be some oil in the line and turbo. Its been a while, but im very positive about the coolant.

Yes the seafoam will run though every oil passage in your engine, it will kinda make your oil turn into a watery substance. When i seafoam a 1.8T i generally get more oil out of it then when i do a regular oil change, about 5.25 quarts. You should do that before installling the new turbo.

i just replaced my turbo because my other one seized at 105000 miles and i want to seafoam my car and i was just wondering is it bad to run seafoam through a new turbo, i couldn't run seafoam threw because the other turbo blew, but i want to do it now, so i would like to seafoam with the ams oil already in my car then change it, is that ok
