New Wheels...Tire Suggestion?
I bought some wheels off a guy who posted them for sale here. 19x8.5 HP Lightning (Evo's). They were for sale a while and I decided to shoot him an offer: $100/wheel, shipped. Wow. This guy was badass. There's a little rash, but for a deal like that, I can live with it. He even sent them to me before being payed. Anyways, thanks to RX7 for the deal.
Now then, I need some tires. I read that 235/35/19's are what's needed to match. However, I find this unsusual...seeing as how that OEM sport wheels are 7.5". How can 8.5 wheels utilize the same width of tires, while still looking nice? I know O.D. will change slightly with 245/35/19, but won't it look better and protect against curbs?
Brand? I've heard good things about the new Falken FK-452's...They are resonably priced as well. Any sugggestions?
Pics aren't great, but better than none...

Thanks. I would love some iforged wheels, but I've already spent way too quickly on this car. The modding bug is a bitch. Anyhow, these got the look I want and the price was right. Any good words on the Falken's?

Those wheels look great. As for the tires, I agree with the poster from above, I've had great luck with Potenza's.
The Potenza's (a few different types) and Yokohama AVS ES100's are all that I have purchased for my vehicle as well as my wife's for the past 6yrs.
The ES100's are an amazing tire on dry and still amazing on wet roads... If you are looking for a high performance tire that will not rip open at 120mph even with a 4" nail in it (I know from personal experience, no I did not know before hand that the nail was there, the sidewalls are soo stiff I could not tell the car had a "flat"), will stay cool, wears slowly, handles great then the ES100's are the way to go... I had them on a FWD vehicle a long time back and they worked very well, and had them on my turbo'ed supra (RWD of course) and they worked very well...
For the performance, and the price ES100's are really, really hard to beat... Even if you did not consider the price...

Nice Feedback. I'm going to make the purchase this week. I'll let you know what I get and post some pics. Any last minute suggestions are great and much appreciated.
Any pricing info on the Yoko's? I'll take a look, but maybe you found better pricing. I know, I know, in most cases, you get what you pay for.
