Granted, I would have to say, not many stock cars will feel peppy when put next to a Jeep with the V8 in it...remember that
I got a 1998 A4 with 78k miles and it was 8000 dollars. You'll definitely be able to find something out there with (relatively) low milage for less than 10 grand. But you gotta be patient, it took me three tries to finally get the right one (the first two were sold to other people the day after I looked at them!).
i went and check out another a4 today. i really liked it but it had a body kit that look like it was put on with wood screws and new rims and tires and the tires could have been mistaken for slicks and the ac didn't work but the dealer said its sold "as is" so i left.
Evnas i could agree with you any more about having a civic i think if i had a civid i would cry myself to sleep every night.
Also what are some strickly performance mods i could do with a 1.8T. it seems like they are really good cars but just dont got enough ***** for me, im used to my jeep which was pretty fast for how big it was.
Thanks
Ted
And also if anyone is interested in a 1998 5.2L Jeep Grand Cherokee with 100,XXX miles in the chicagoland area i got one for sale...

the 1.8T has a sh!tload of mods available. you can get an ecu chip that adds 40+HP and 80ft/lbs TQ...big turbo upgrades can get you anywhere from 220HP to 300+HP, and many people get well into the 350+ range...the modding possibilities for the 1.8Ts are amazing
wow that is a lot more power than i expecting. but on the other hand i really had no idea what to expect.
Wow i feel like i ask alot of questions.. so a couple more wont hurt
How much are all of these upgrades? and are there good places to buy and are there bad places to buy? easy install?
Also what is the deal with eveyone talking about timing belts on this forum?
Thanks
Ted

you're gonna have to do a little research here, bud. help me help you. just browse the last few days for interesing topics...i'll give a few brief explanations, but you'll have to search the forums to learn everything....
chips are anywhere from 200 for a neuspeed chip (1/2 the power of most others) up to 5-600 for the high end chips, with available options that can easily take you up to a grand
turbo upgrades start around 1500 installed and up for the kits...you can piece together your own setup for much cheaper if you want to do the work yourself.
timing belts need to be replaced every 60-80k miles....some people say 90k and even 100k, but imo it's not worth the risk. if your timing belt goes, your entire top end goes with it...valves, pistons, cylinder head, all of it
here's a good list of links that will learn you all you need to know about audi mods...
