Default Newbie ready to drop 9k on A4

Ok then im ready to drop some money on my first A4 i have answered most of my questions already....it will be a 1998-01 A4 2.8 Quattro. i just need to hear that v6 over a 4 cylinder. and i dont plan on too many mods. i hate front wheel drive as everyone should so thats easy. ok my first question.... how can i tell from looking at cars online if they have the sport suspension? certain rims? 3 spoke steering wheel vs. 4? the nice side bolstered seats vs the so-so regular buckets? i guess im just wondering what options went with which seats/ steering wheel? thatnks for the help.

Start with this:

The most noticable is the wheels, but you never know if the regular ones were switched out later for sport wheels. The way to def know is to look at the shocks. Sport suspension has red shocks. You should also have the sport 3 spoke steering wheel. You can look at my photo gallery. My car is pretty much completely stock 2.8 Quattro with sport suspension.

I don't know about the seat. I thought they were all the same, but I could be wrong. The S4 had different seats with the different bolsters.

Good luck on the search.

Almost everyone here will tell you to get the 1.8T instead. You'll thank us later when you get a chip. Its hard to tell the suspension difference in a pic but easy in person. The sport suspension looks less like a RAV4, both still have a huge wheel gap. It'll be hard to find A4s with S4 seats but they're out there. The sport steering wheel is common even with the stock suspension, the four spoke is more of an oddity actually.

My 2.8 is super lugurious, you just gotta find the right one, if you get lucky. Mine has perfect leather seats and even comes with Cold Weather package. Which means in the morning after I take my shower, and usually its cold as **** in the morning, I hop into my A4 with heated seats and its well worth it. Also make sure, and I stress this again to make sure its a Quattro, good move goin with da V6, if your not looking for alot of mods, youll be suprised to as how much powerfull the 2.8 engine really is. oh yeah you cant forget the 30V 2.8....

alright thanks for the info guys. and i knew some people would think im dumb for going with the 2.8 but i have my priorities and souns is top on the list. i own a 230hp turbo 4-cyl now and i am sick of hearing the exhaust turbo does sound nice but its wrong wheel drive. and those are s-4 seats huh? i knew they were similar but wasnt sure if they were the same. also i have heard som rumors that the a-4 sport suspension IS the s-4 suspension true or bogus?

What you should do is buy a $1000 Corolla, and dump half of the remaning $8000 into an RRSP fund, and the rest into an investment portfolio so you can watch your money grow. Yeah.
