Default NGK BKR7E and stock chip/turbo

I have heard these plugs are the way to go when you get chipped, will there be any downside to getting these plugs with stock setup? Will there be a performance hit since the plugs are colder?

Thanks

no gain, just less risk of misfires when chipped. No need to run them until you are atleast chipped. But you can even run the stock heat range (6's) if you are chipped as long as the gap is .028 from the stock .032

Thanks for the reply.

No negative side effects right? I need to replace my plugs and won't be chipped for another month.

BKR7E in the winter time will take longer to warm up and create a less hot spark/combustion, especially when running stock boost. That can and has for other people caused misfires after a cold start. Also if they dont get hot enough they wont "self clean" and will probably foul quicker.

I was going to say just dump in some $5 set of autolites from walmart until he gets chipped, but most people are to lazy for that.

They only sell stock and one heat range colder. How much power was Tom making when it went? Im betting to hot of a plug was used if he was using a autolite plugs.... they are the official plug of NASCAR

I live in Florida, I'm thinking cold weather won't affect it to much as we don't get much cold weather. Will there be a HP loss with these plugs on stock setup?
