whats the best roof rack system for a 02-05 A4?

 

we have never had any complaints from the ones we sell at the dealer and the price is not all that bad either

 

yakima IMO....but thule's pretty good too

EDIT: yakimas i think have more options available than thule...but they are very similar...i have an old thule rack that came on my a4 when i bought it....the plastic shell is cracking and alot of the exposed bolts have rust....although this rack had been on the car since it was new, almost ten years ago....but the new yakima designs look very slick, with very little hardware exposed...

i have a yakima rack that i had from my old honda accord...it's about 3 years old now, been through quite a few trips to the snow...still looks perfect. i just had to by new clips to swap from a honda to an audi, 40 bucks at REI....

Hey neil, how much for a roof rack for our car, a 2000? I bought a Saris Bones 2 rack... but it mounts to the trunk. It's a quality trunk rack, but I'm afraid of scratching the trunk lid/bumper... if the car is even slightly dirty, it could be an issue. I'd like to grab a good roof rack, lemme know if a deal can be had on an OEM roof rack.

 

Thule fit is:
400xt foot pack, # 2114 fit kit, 50" bars = 165Lbs

Yakima fit is:
Q-towers, 2pair of q-clip #5, 58" bars = 125Lbs
