I have no boost. When I floor it in first, I wait for the turbo to rescue the puny engine, but it just doesn't. There is nothing in any gear under any throttle load. This can't just be a DV problem, can it? I was thinking a hose just fell off or something, but it seems like everything is still connected. The turbo wouldn't just up and die this suddenly, would it?
I have a chipped K03 with ~95,000 miles on it. And now it's slower than my mom's space car. (Prius)

 

take off the turbo intake pipe and see if it spins or how much shaft play it has

 

Could your wastegate have frozen such that all it does is allow the exhaust to bypass instead of spooling up the turbines?

If your car is chipped did you upgrade the diverter valve?

If not, that may be the source of your problem.

i checked the operation of the wastegate diaphram when i installed the n75

if you have a hand held vacuum test pump that can be switched to build pressure, connect it to the hose leading
to the wastegate diaphram and watch the linkage on the other side to see if it opens and closes.

although that might not tell you anything if it is broken inside the housing[&o]

 

Bad diverter valve.

BTW, did you just install the N75? If so, put your old one back in and see if that fixes the problem.

It's chipped, but that wouldn't prevent the turbo from ever making boost, would it? It should just make the car leak boost, not stop the turbo from working. I don't know, I'll look at the wastegate and the turbo. I doubt the turbo just quit all of a sudden, though, without warning. Maybe.

I'll probably have to get a K04 if my turbo is dead, which kinda ruins my dream of getting a GT28RS this summer. Oh well.
