Default No Keyless entry

Hey guys, one night during the past eight days of rain my locks started acting really weird, they would lock themselves, whether the door was open or closed. The lights would also go on and then start to dim then go on again. That just coincided with the locking i think, but it also could have been independent i dont remember, it was pouring so i just wanted to get in the car. Now the locks and everything are working fine again except that the keyless entry remote isn't working. I tried both the one i had that night and also my other one that was at home and 50 miles from the car at the time. Neither one is working. I replaced the batteries and still nothing. I used a VAG and got two codes yesterday, one was something about pump overrun error or something about it running too long and possible leak. the other was about a faulty ground. I cleared them yesterday, drove the car for 45 minutes or so today and have locked and unlocked it numerous times and neither code has come back. It makes me think that maybe the overrun error was just from it trying to lock itself repeatedly after it was locked when it was freaking out the other night(i'm more or less guessing but it seems logical). I guess there's the possibility that there was a leak somewhere? I don't really know where to start looking for a bad ground, does anyone know where the receiver for the keyless entry is? I checked the fuses and they seemed ok, but again the locks work fine now both using the key in the door and from the switch inside so it makes sense that there isn't a blown fuse. Is there a separate fuse or a fuse combined with something else for the keyless entry? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to reprogram it and still no go. I just don't get it. I'll try to reprogram the other remote later and see what happens.

Anyone have any other ideas? This is pretty frustrating.

Tell us how you tried to reprogram the remotes.

Check and see if lock codes are back now that you have cleared them once.
Do the interior lights work OK now?

I did replace the batteries lol. I reprogrammed using the method that is in the owner's manual. The codes haven't come back yet but it's raining now so I'll check tomorrow. The lights are fine now. I'm so confused.
