Soon I gotta get a new car. I want that over the summer to have a new car, and im starting my homework from now...

Im lookin at
2002-2005 Audi A4 1.8TQ (manual)
2000-2001 Audi S4 (manual)

im more intrested in the A4 tho.
I wanna ask you guys for a couple of things

I know the 1.8TQ comes stock 170hp.

What chip could give me more HP, but also be SAFE.
I honesly dont know how chips work.. more gas ? more what? i dunno, but i know they give more hp and torque.


I also heard that for 1.8T's an INTAKE will make a significant difference in the torque.

i mean a couple of headguides here...

i wanna get more HP, but be safe, also its gonna be a everyday car, not a hobby.

 

00=150hp stock
01=170hp stock

Intakes dont do much for these cars other than sound or if you have a big turbo.

 

If your more interested in the 1.8T, know its an amazing car, blast to drive.. You can mod them real well, I just bought a Evolution intake for mine and will be putting it in here shortly. Dont know how much difference an intake makes.... it isnt to big.. most sound/slight throttle increase. Chips are incredible since we have a turbo, they push the performance closer to what its capable of and you gain alot. A good chip is http://www.revotechnik.com/products/....aspx?pvID=629.. Most chips cost 500$ along with the chip your gonna need to upgrade your Diverter valve, http://www.stratmosphere.com/hyperboost3.htm so make sure you have a diverter valve before you get the chip or right as you get it.. or you could have problems.. all of thats safe as far as I know 1.8T's are nice, but then again so are S4's....
