Default Noob question.

I just purchased an a4, and am not totaly familiar with turbos, or the engine in particular... Most engines perform better in colder temperatures. Will the cold air have a good affect on the turbo as well? Ive heard of heat soak, but I dont think i have experienced it yet in this 90 degree heat.

your turbo works better when the weather is cooler and not so hot and muggy. It will bog down alot more in the heat

How long have you had your car ?
All engines work better in cooler temps. This goes aspecially for turbos.
In 90 degree heat your car will be somewhat heatsoaked. Once its 100, its all over unless you have FMIC.
You should notice that the car will pull harder at night during summers months. Even if its modded/

You will not notice heatsoke as much unless you are chipped. I live in Arizona and it is over 100 everyday. My car is so much slower, it gets heatsoke almost instantly.

Yeah turbo cars are effected by heat much more than N/A engines. As soon as it's 90 degrees out my car feels like it's struggling a bit.

Ive had the car for four days. All I can really notice is slight sluggishness after driving around for a while in the heat. The boost isnt there as much. I do love how this car gets going from a stop, even with tiptronic. The only problems with it are the windshield washer resevoir has a leak towards the bottom, the audi symphony radio sucks, and the cup holder on the dash doesnt pop out sometimes.. Other than that, I am really pleased with this ride. I am affraid to chip it or do much else other than a diverter valve because of reliability and check engine lights. If I put a diverter valve on, is that easy to do? and will it throw a check engine light?
