Hey guys, i just picked up an 2002 A4 3.0 quattro with an auto trans and 70k miles. Im new the audi auto trans and this model A4 in general. I have owned previous audi cars but they were stick. Well my question is:

Is it normal for there to be some kind of hesitation in the trans before the car starts to move upon take off. I feel like between 1k rpms and 2k rpms the car doesnt really move and once it hits 2k it grabs throws the car forward. Now i dont know if this is normal or if there is something wrong with the transmission. I dont mind what its doing, i just want to make sure this is normal, or else it will bother me not knowing. If there is something wrong with it, its not too big of a deal because it still carries a warranty. Thanks in advance.

Btw, this car is absolutely amazing. Its features kick the hell out of any american car i have ever owned or driven and it is soo smooth to drive. lol.

Im not sure, because i own a stick, but it seems just like a normal auto thing, unless its an extreme. All automatics have some delay from the clutch and torque converters. So i would say dont worry about it unless it is at or gets to a point where it affects the driveability.

thanks for the replies guys. I figured it was normal, but just wanted to make sure. I havent owned an automatic car in like 3 years, so i just dont remember.

And no its not turbo lag. lol. you have to have a turbo for it to be turbo lag. I know all about turbo lag with my single turbo rx7.
