Hey guys today i went to turn on my car and i noticed that there was smoking coming form the back of my car into the interior is this normal? i mean i kno smoke should come out but is it normal for alot of smoke to come out? Its a 2000 1.8T 5speed with magnaflow muffler.

no my windows were open and it came from my muffler... i mean i understand smoke out of the muffler is normal but is it normal if theres ALOT of smoke?

I'd say no maybe to much oil or some sort of engine control failing.

 

Color of the smoke will help alot.

For the record, smoke inside the car is not normal. Your muffler shouldnt be pushing out much smoke either, and it shold only be on start up or on a colder day.

 

i think he just meant it was comming in the windows but there was alot more than normal

 

yeah i know i was just kinda adding that in cuz spectrum said "id say no" as if he wasnt sure. whatever i was noob proofing it haha.

AHB900, what color was the smoke?

 

The smoke was at start up for hte first like 6 seconds. it was like a light grey color with a werid smell ( i cant really put a name on the smell though.)

 

I would ask you if it smelled like burnt coolant but you probably wouldn't know. Does your car start up and idle normally?
