Nice job... the only question is what kinda system is this and what is running... obviously it looks like a windows product but which one is it and how did you even install it. Because from what I can see... there is no CD-Rom drive or NIC... so a network install will not fly... (Systems Analyst... thats what I do).

I love it... A LOT.

USB 2.0 port in the armrest
The system runs Windows XP Pro. WiFi is coming (NIC is integrated into the mainboard)..
I can pull the computer in about 5 minutes and bring it in the house. There I can do any major work like a format or O/S install.

the only problem with carputers, everyone seems to lose radio. i still enjoy listening to AM/FM every so often. also the thing i wonder is, wouldn't the frequent start up and shutdown shorten a hard drive's lifespan?

I used to have a radio tuner card for my computer, so it is an option.

USB FM tuners are available. I never listened to radio anyway tho. It's possible that the constant booting would be hard on the HD. But this HD has been the drive for the carputers in both my cars. So its been used in a car for nearly a year without a single problem so far.
