Glad to hear that, but oxygen sensor would not give misfires in one cylinder.

Say the packs were switched around, and brand new spark plugs were put in...Where would you go from there if the problem is still present?

Did you clear the code and what code has recurred?

What engine type do you have?

If you have the AEB engine, it may be the power output stage on top of the airbox (these seem to often go bad on cyl 2). It could be the wire from the output stage to the coil pack,.
It could be not electrical and could be a dirty fuel injector too.

cheapest is to check the wire resistance, run some injector cleaner through the system and then check output from the output stage.

I just made a topic a little while ago about the exact same problem with #2 cylinder on my 98 1.8t. My ignition packs were switched around and it was still doing it, so maybe I'll just replace it all together like you are...

Let me know how your problem turns out check this thread after monday, or tuesday......thanks all you guys.....

Press the quote button on the reply that you want to quote and it should automatically place it in the quote codes

Not going to get much in the way of answers buried in a long thread.

the answer, is no. If your engine is OK, then putting in a chip will not cause codes. I'm now at 120K miles, 40K after chipping my car, and the only codes I've gotten were related to other problems like the MAF going out and vacuum leaks.
