O2 Sensors

O2 Sensors
Its time for me to change out the O2 sensors since they have been on the car for 110k. Its looking like I am going to be dropping $500 on them and putting them in myself. A few questions.
Anyone had experience with SNG brand sensors? They are less expensive than the bosch ones on autohausaz.com. Here is a link.
There is the option of getting the universal sensors, meaning I cut off the old plug and wire it to the new sensor myself. Again there is a drop in price for this. Any reasons not to do it?
Lastly, what is the realistic performance gain I will get from replacing all 4. Right now my idle is a bit rough, and accelerating is a more of a struggle than it seems it should. Especially low end. Should I be sure to still with bosch sensors, or is this not really going to matter too much?
Thanks guys

RE: O2 Sensors
Use Bosch sensors. I've had trouble on other cars with non-bosch ones. Universals are risky. I bought one for the post cat but haven't installed it. If I could do it again I would've bought one with the proper plug. I would replace only the pre-cat )2s right now. The post cat ones don't do a whole lot other than measuring cat efficiency. You probably won't see any performance gain, but your MPG will probably improve.

Ok so yeah Ill probably just drop the 250 or whatever on the front two and get those done, probably get a new MAF too its old as hell. How was the install for those, fairly simple from what I understand?

RE: O2 Sensors
What about those vw sensor's that are like $35 because of some defect on the original's. I think i read about this in 1 of the diy's for a test pipe a day or 2 ago.
"The sensor is that cheap because its part of a recall action from VW on some dubs so its 30$ of the shelf or 24$ online. Part number 06A-906-262-Q"

RE: O2 Sensors
Don't get another MAF man. They're just too pricey. Unless you're getting codes for the MAF, just clean it with electronics cleaner.
The O2 install is very straightforward. You might want to get some PB blaster to break the old ones free.
Steps involved:
1) Lift the car
2) Disconnect the O2 plug in the engine bay
3) Remoce old sensor
4) Install new sensor
5) Plug the new sensor in
6) Reset your ECU

RE: O2 Sensors
yeah if i get a new MAF its gonna be a rebuilt one, going for like $145. I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol last weekend and it hasnt seemed to have much effect. My car has a rough idle right at 800-720 rpms and then sometimes, especailly when shifting from P to D or R dipping really low to like 400 and almost stalling. I'm hoping the O2 sensors will help, I need to clean the TBA out too, and then maybe the MAF. Is electronics cleaner going ot be a lot better than the rubbing alcohol I used?
