oil analyzed
changed oil recently, first time since i have owned this car. i took a sample of the oil and gave it to a friend of my dads who works for an analyst company. got the results today, and the summary is basically good.
"wear low for reported engine and time on oil. no indication of any unusual contamination"
this is good to hear. then there is a spectrochemical analysis and physical test results. which is basically a bunch of numbers that you have to look up on a chart to understand.
amazing what they can tell from a oil sample.
but i was thinking, wouldn't it be nice to see one of these reports before you bought a used car.

You should try and get the copywrite or whatever it would be to keep this Idea and the money that could be made for it. I think that wold be a great Idea. I can't imagine not doing it if it was at my disposial, I mean hell look at places like carfax. your on to something here.
Oil analysis on a used car for sale is easy to subvert.
all the person has to do is put in fresh oil and claim it has been there for 5K miles.
Oil analysis will show "low" on all metals suggesting that everything is great.
