whats the benifit of a oil cooler?

Keeps the oil at a lower temperature. The name kinda gives its use away.

yeha i kinda figured out it make it cooler, but like what check said whats the benifit of it... sorry should have been more specific.

it's supposed to reduce wear by keeping your internals slightly cooler...i think that's about it

It helps keep the viscosity of the oil thicker so it's not like water thin in the engine.

pretty much....it will help in any situation, but not significantly...they're more for pumped up motors running lots of power at high RPMs...

no it might help the engine live longer, better oil coating means better movents of the parts less friction

It keeps the oil from becoming coke in turbo engines.
