i need to change the oil on my `99 A4 1.8T . The previous owner switched to synthetic. i was wondering what type of oil and how much am i supposed to use?

You owners manual should tell you how much to put in. If you can't find it, put in 3 quarts, check level, add as necessary until you have enough.
