I have a 2000 a4 1.8t with 104,000 on it and today the low oil pressure light flashed, so I pulled over and shut it off and then restarted it and it was fine. could this be a dirty oil sending unit or what? I changed the oil 1000 miles ago with pure 5w30 synthetic. Any info would be great. Thanks

 

its the sender unit mate a friend of mine has been driving round for 2 years with that light on (car drives great oil pressure 100%, oil changes every 5k full synthetic) so I put it down to shorted wiring or bad sensor problem is he don't care as long as it goes, stupid ***** but its his car

mine came on before too, but everything was fine...about had a heart attack when it did come on tho...

 

same crap happens with mine...very rarely tho.
