Default Oil sensor warning light

Well the light came on today (yellow oil thing) but it was fine last night. My oil temp gauge is not working. Is it just one sensor for the temp and pressure or are they seperate? Where is the sensor located? I looked on ECS tuning and they had an oil temp sensor for only one engine code (which I don't believe is mine). Which one is it?

Hi there,

I'm doing a search and come across your posting. It's the same issue as my fiance's car. So did replacing the oil sensor do the trick? Her oil sensor light came on this past Friday. Is it possible for this sensor to get knocked off by snow? Her car is lowered and I've always bitched about that. I'm thinking drove over some snow/ice combo and the sensor got knocked off of the oil pan.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any input...

The sensors are separate from each other

The temp is on the bottom of the oil pan and the pressure is is on the back of the engine, i cant reall explain it without a diagram i know someone has one

Those rarely go bad so there is probably a problem, maybe pickup screen?

If the sensor on the oil pan was knocked off there would be no oil in the car due to the 2 inch hole in the pan

I thought I posted about my solution but I guess not. I took my car in because it had to be inspected for warranty and the light was on so they looked at that too. Turned out that the wires had gotten screwed up, nothing wrong with the sensor or oil pressure.

my oil temp sensor has been acting up lately (periodically reads off the scale), so i bought the oil temp sensor...i'll probably put it in within the next few days, i'll let you know if that worked for me.

Ok, sorry to rehash this. I took some pics to add some clarification... The pic titled "What is this" - is this the oil pressure sensor? I also show a pic showing where it's located with respect to the engine.

Going to the bottom of the car, is this the oil temp sensor? My wife hit something and it dented (see rust spots) and broke the wire coming out of the plug. Auditech, I can't just replace that wire (with the plug) or can I? I figured I'd have to do some fancy soldering or something.

Finally, would anyone happen to have the part numbers to these things so I can order it from ECStuning or another site that anyone else knows of?
