Default Oil temp guage

Hey i was wondering if anyone could help.. I just just changed the t-belt, water pump, t-stat etc on my 97 a4 2.8 12v (lucky i did was about to break) and all of a sudden the oil temp guage always reads 350.. i am sure the oil temp is not that high but does anyone have any clue what i may have screwed up that would cause this? I also change the pressure line for the p/s pump. any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I'm not sure if this is normal but my oil temp guage stays at the bottom, 150F. Should I be seeing any change with engine warmed up. I got htis car about 2 months ago and still haven't noticed it move at all. I'm sure weather has an effect. Right now it's about 32F degrees.

Ok. I think I maybe reading the guage wrong but, it's never raised at all since I've gotten the car? Is that normal?

ya thats not normal. It should move up to about 1/4 way after driving for a little bit... forget what temp that is, but its somewhere between 150 and 250.. I think mine is usually at about 210-230 when warmed up.
