to be honest, i'm not entirely sure when this started happening, but i'm pretty sure in the winter, my oil temp was steady at around 200 or a little less. Now, if I drive hard local or above 50 on the highway, it reaches around 225...
I was driving about 70~80 for a while, and saw that it was creeping towards the 250 mark at which point I slowed down to 45 (minimum speed limit) til she cooled back down...
coolant temperature steady in the middle...
Also, when my oil temp is higher than 200, the radiator fan gets loud and i lose power...
I was thinking there was something wrong with the clutch fan and was eating up power, but it only happens when the motor gets hot.... Some people tell me not to worry about the oil temp, just the coolant temp, but eh... nah...... if something's wrong I want to get to the bottom of it... from my knowledge and reading up on some threads, i'd suspect the thermostat... but... all you better knowledged people out there... HELP! [&:]

you are checking the dipstick regularly, right? it's not low?

 

yea, not low at all, not leaking/burning a drop of oil.
m1synth0w40 w/ mann filter... change every 2k~3k miles, depending on condition of oil...

225 is normal for summer months. Dont worry bout it.
