Yeah, so we changed the oil in this thing for the first time today . . . CHRISTMAS, was that a tussle. The location wasn't that bad but I'm betting the good folk at the Chevrolet dealership where the car came from jacked that filter on with a hydraulic wrench, cuz it took an hour of straining and several minutes of swearing to get that stupid thing off. And on a completely different note, anyone else have problems with the paint wearing off on the door handle/armrest pieces? Barely over 40k miles, and it's wiping off like a coat of wax. Wonder if the dealership can repaint it or if I'll need new pieces . . .

 

Do you mean the the piece that the power window buttons sit in? It's called a finger plate. If that's what you're talking about, I've replace mine. Cost me around 70 bucks for the drivers and passengers sides. Kind of a pain to install. I ended up getting mad and snapping them off forceably.

 

that sux about the paint i never heard of that before. is it still under warranty?

 

Yeah, that's what sucks, the car is a '99 and only comes with a 4-year warranty. Oh well, I'll see what the dealership says--it looks like just a really really thin coat of paint.
