Default ok, cel again.

Well all fellow audi enthuasists....it has happend. i got a cel. now the thing is, i have taken it to autozone, 3 differnet locations and every one is unable to read my code. what am i to do? any suggestions? no funny idle. accelerates normally, nothing out of the norm....minus that damn light. holla at cha boy. ne way to unplug the thing? lol, j/k.

since 1996-7 the audio was connected to the DLC by pin 7 which is grounded by diagnostic tools to interrogate the ecu now you have put a basic audio in there it creates a permanent live through pin 7 on the DLC so you must either replace the the radio with the original or fit the proper converter lead if you can get it?? other way is totally disconnect the radio and any wiring

I only just found this out after a few diagnostic tool blow outs ( very expensive )[:@]

damnit dave...wtf...so basically to perform any diagnostics i have to disconnect the headunit and all wiring to it???...


shitty luck.

nope just the live wires and there are 2 ( permanent live and switched ) just pull them both

typical CEL issue when your trying to resolve something and your so close the blasted thing turns off and leaves you high and dry[:@] probably a faulty wire to ground I just hope its cleared its self
