OK EVERYONE....how does a turbo system work?? Friend and I COMPLETELY disagree...
 

ok so im pretty sure I know how turbo systems work...but my friend just got a new subaru baja with the same motor as my WRX...we totally are disagreeing on how turbo systems work, and make the car go faster...

air goes in intercooler and through intake pipe....both sets of air goes through turbo, which goes through exhaust....the other intercooler pipe goes through intake manifold, through motor, through turbo, out of exhaust....


he claims that the air goes into your intake pipe, through your turbo, through your intercooler, than through the motor,


so pretty much...where does the turbo gets it air???

does the intercooler get the air after the turbo...or does it feed its own air into the turbo???

I SWEAR IM RIGHT...and if im not, than omgoodness am i gonna get flamed...ive been around turbo setups for so long, and done FMIC installs, and turbo installs, and everything, and if i dont even know how they work...crap. somebody clear this whole dilemma up!!!!!

wow ok
exhaust from the engine spins a turbine and then goes out the exhaust pipe. the turbing that the exhuast spun is conneceted to another turbine that sucks air threw the intake. that air is then pressurized and shot out to the fmic. there it is cooled and then goes to the intake manifold

lol oh man, thats crazy i didnt know how that worked i though the turbo took the gas from the tank and put it in the motor faster :D so how might I ask did you miss how the set up works if you have done all this work on turbos systems lol

oh ic ic, well i guess they probably know better than anyone how they work, lol oh and I did know how they worked I was being sarcastic incase anyone thought otherwise lol

thats exactly my point..i swore on everything that i was right and hes an idiot....

so the fmic doesnt suck in outside air?? i couldve sworn this is how it worked..

no the fmic cools the charged air after it goes thew the turbo
