OK, I know that this post will get a lot of readers hoping to flame me for this question, so before you flame, know that I RTFM and STFA, but haven't come up with anything. I even checked AW and AZ. I don't want my power windows to roll down with one touch...I know that sounds weird, but my girl smokes in my car and has a hard time getting them at the level she likes them at to smoke (told you it was weird, but I'm a good guy and I like to give her what she wants, cause then I gets what I wants). I know that they disable when you disconnect the battery, and I have done that, but someone always seems to double-click the window switch and reenable them. I am hoping there is a permanent fix to this issue, I'm about sick of disconnecting my battery and resetting all my radio stations, etc. PLEASE HELP!!! If the answer is obvious, flame if you must, but I have exhausted too much time searching for the answer, I need a quick fix.

okay.. tell her to quit smoking in your car

and you should be able to fix it by pushing the putton till its all the way down, and then the same up..
if that dosent work.. then there is some way you can do it through vag

 

just stop at desired height on the auto up? not too hard to stop the window where you want it.

 

dude why would you want to get rid of that feature??? It is a hell of a lot easier the way it is. Is your girl blonde? Im sorry but i had to ask its not freakin brain surgery to open the window.

 

Let me address your questions one at a time...When it's cold as **** outside, the difference between having the window down 1/2 inch and 1 inch is rather drastic. Easy is good, but cold is not. Yes she is blonde, but she also has two degrees, so I'd guess she would qualify as one of those rare blondes that defied the laws of nature. It doesn't make a difference to me either way, but she doesn't like it, and like I said I'm a good boyfriend and I want to fix it for her.

The damn thing moves pretty fast, it's not the auto-up it's the auto down.

I think engaging the pinch protection also disables auto up/down, so try blocking the window with something while it's closing. It'll open a small way, and that may stop the auto up/down from functioning until it is reset again.

Or just tell your girlfriend she's not allowed to smoke in your car. Why should you let her make your nice Audi smell like toxic waste?
