you all probably remember the custom intake thread a while back... got mine in... heres pics





impressions:

freshly installed after oil change

the car cooled down before and during installation... once i finished, the turbo was cold to touch, no heat from engine bay.

i drove throughout my neighborhood to warm up the motor, no boost to prevent heat...

then i drove around for a good while pushing it pretty hard, ive never been good at judging small power changes... except for when i got chipped cuz that was blatantly obvious... i do however notice a quicker spool... i will try to prove that with vag logs soon... i have a before log of the MAF sensor... shows pretty well when the turbo spools...

next onto the sound... immediately i heard a difference in grunt down low... i also notice the BPV dumping air...

heres my question, when just driving around at around 10-5 in hg of vaccum, i hear the bpv dumping air...

also it sounds like a jet sucking in air when there is boost...its crazy...

ill go into more when i drive more tomorrow....

do i think it was worth it? hell yea, as soon as i get over all the noise the dv makes...

 

Are you boosting normal psi? That jet sucking air could be boost leaking out... Maybe you've got a loose hose, or a cracked hose somewhere.

Just a thought.
