p 0012 code
Bought a 2001 A4 quattro with the 1.8L AWM engine code. Has 100,000 miles on it. It had a "clank" to it near the firewall. Audi certified tech said he thought it was the camshaft adjuster/tensioner. Had my guy replace it and the noise went away. That is the good news. Shortly thereafter it starts throwing P0012 codes, which I believe points back to the part I just replaced. Absolutely no driveability issues. I checked alldata and then placed an Ohmeter on the part and got 12, so I believe the replacement part is OK.
Is this coincidental? Can replacing the part cause the P0012 or just dumb luck? My wife can not stand the check engine light any longer. Am I in for a long costly diagnosis and likely expensive part to solve this so the light will go out?

Apparently the cam timing is over retarded. Could be that he job was not done properly or something else went bad.
