Default P0301 code

Well I was driving home the other night and I pulled into my driveway and all of a sudden the cel gets thrown. The following morning I start her up and then I notice she was misfiring and the cel starts blinking. I noticed that this happened before (the car misfires then the cel blinks but then it goes back to normal) I drive around for maybe 3 miles to see if it would go away but it doesn't and the cel is still blinking. So I go in to look at the plugs. I notice that cylinder #1 was wet. Aha .. there is the culprit. Just to double check I rent a scan tool at auto - zone. I must have had 10 codes

P0441
P1475
P1473
P0300
P0304
P0303
P0301
P1613

I clear all of them and start the car up again. Run a scan and am just left with P0301. So I try swapping the coils and plugs from cylinder #2. Clear the code start her up and wait for the cel to go on. Still left with P0301.

Would the next logical cuplrit be the ICM? I mean it did have a tendency to misfire but then return to normal so could it be the ICM was going bad and then just finally gave up this morning?

I know I can get the meyle one from ebay for like 70 shipped.

-Thanks,
John

16685
P0301
Cyl.1 Misfire Detected

If you swapped the coil packs, and it still is coming up p0301, then you are probably right, its probably the ICM.

What year and engine do you have?

If you want to test it to make sure, here you go:

Check that you have battery voltage, 12 volts, to the ignition coil for cylinder 1.
With ignition key on, engine not running, disconnect the coil connector and check
the voltage. If there is no voltage check the wiring between the fuse box and ignition coil.
Check the fuses and grounds.

Probably the ICM then.

Pull it out and test it. If its bad, replace, otherwise, do what crazyhawk said.

I have the same code error but in cylinder 1. Do you recommend me to swap out my wires and and plugs and then test the ICM. Or should I just ahead and perform the test. Any help will be appreciated
