I have and 97 audi a4 4 cylinder w/ no quattro. The check engine light is on. I went to a local auto parts store and had them run a trouble shoot on my sensor port under my steering wheel. A trouble code of p1137 shows up and nobody can tell me what that means.


p.s. the problem that causes the check engine light is that the car stalls and sthuts off when i'm slowing down to turn a round corners and the car runs differently when light is on. The shifting is off. The check engine light will go on for a few days then return off. HELP!!!

Could be many problems... You can start with cleaning MAF. It might help.

 

What does MAF stand for??
what could the many probs be??

 

I am not an expert... just guessing..

Maf = Mass Air Fuel Sensor. It is in the air box.


dirty maf or bad O² sensor or fpr or .... don't know...

if you have vag-com you might need to save some logs...

 

MAF=Mass Air Flow meter

You need to check for broken vacum hoses

 

I checked the MAF the other day. I cleaned it and fixed the hose...might have been a leak...Thank a lot guys!
